Plant your seeds indoors for school projects 4 to 6 weeks before setting in the garden. When seedlings are 4" to 6" tall, transplant them into larger pots so roots can grow properly. Plant directly in the spring garden when the night temperature is above 50 degrees. Plants can grow 4 ft tall.

Soil Requirements:

Requires fertile soil in a well-drained location in the garden. Apply mulch, grass clippings, or straw around the base of the plant.

Water Requirements:

Water during dry and hot spells.

Fertilizer Requirements:

Use Slow Release (6 Month) Fertilizer when transplanting outdoors. Periodically apply Miracle-Gro Liquid Fertilizer.

Harvest Tips:

Hand remove cotton from the plant when the cotton pods open.
