Broccoli Planting Information:

Broccoli does best when temperatures remain between 40 F and 70 F during the growing period. Temperatures below 25 F can damage or kill broccoli. Spring planting should occur as soon as soil can be worked and after the last frost, and fall planting should be done 10 to 12 weeks before the first frost. In most areas, broccoli grows best if planted in late summer so it can mature during cool periods. Plants can grow 2 ft tall.

Soil Requirements:

Requires fertile soil in a well-drained location in the garden. Apply mulch, grass clippings, or straw around the base of the plant.

Water Requirements:

Keep well watered or the plant will have premature heading and flowering.

Fertilizer Requirements:

Use Slow Release (6 Month) Fertilizer when transplanting outdoors. Apply Miracle Gro Liquid Fertilizer periodically.

Harvest Tips:

When you begin to see the buds spread out, it is time to harvest. Cut heads with a sharp knife.

76 days. Solanum lycopersicum. (F1) La Roma IV Tomato. The plant produces high yields of 5 to 8 oz bright red Roma tomatoes. They have thick walls, are meaty, and are very flavorful. Cooking intensifies flavor, too. One of the very best Italian type tomatoes on the market. Perfect for making tomato puree, paste, and sauce. The flesh is thick and drier, so it will cook down into a thick sauce. The tomato freezes well too for later cooking. One of the most disease resistant tomato varieties. Always a great seller at Farmer’s Markets. An excellent choice for home gardens and market growers. A variety from the USA. Disease Resistant: V, FF, N, A, St, ToMV. Determinate.
